FIXTURES:
Indonesia is placed in Group C alongside the West Indies, Ireland, & New Zealand.
SQUAD:
Indonesia has no player who has represented the senior team.
RECENT FORM:
Indonesia qualified through a bilateral qualification tournament. In the East Asia-Pacific qualifier, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea were the only participating teams from that region. It was a 3-match series between the two teams hosted by Indonesia and won by them by a margin of 2-1.
PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR:
Ni Luh Ketut Dewi: The skipper played a pivotal part in their qualification when she led from the front with stellar batting and bowling performances against P.N.G. The right-handed batter has a good technique to bat long and is also an excellent right-arm pacer who gets the ball to shape back in.
Kadek Kurniartini: The right-handed batter is another decent batter in this lineup with the ability to hit the ball well through the off-side. She was another batter besides the skipper who made handy contributions against P.N.G. in the qualifier.
Lie Qiao: The off-spinner from Indonesia has shades of Saeed Ajmal in her bowling. One can see why she could prove to be very effective if the pitch takes some turn & it would only be a matter of her getting her lines right.
PREDICTIONS:
This tournament for Indonesia will pretty much be about learning and testing themselves against stronger teams. It will be a difficult job for them to get through to the Super 6s, but by the end of it, they will have a lot to take back & that experience is what will be vital for their development going into the future.
