England Cricket Board has done an exceptional job when it comes to creating and maintaining an excellent pathway. It's like an underground network of pipelines that eventually sees the best out of the best get selected. They have the EPPs & Regional Academies that do a tremendous job in talent scouting and developing them the way they should.
The U-19s have never got a chance to play together and I have watched them all in action at some stage of their career. With 15 individual talents coming together, it's a very daunting team when all 15 are combined together into a squad.
FIXTURES:
England is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Zimbabwe, & Rwanda.
SQUAD:
England has no players with the experience of having played for the senior side. The likes of Alice Capsey & Freya Kemp (injured) were eligible, but the selectors opted to rest them keeping the senior T20 World Cup in mind.
RECENT FORM:
England has no experience of playing the U-19 international games & this was the first time the squad was assembled and got together. With 15 very talented players getting together, it was a matter of clicking together and we saw that across the two warm-ups where England was the best side amongst any team with their dominating wins.
KNOW THE PLAYERS:
Charlotte Edwards Cup (T20)
School Games (T20)
Academy Friendlies (LA)
*All players have not been involved in every format and if they have, the sample size has been very less. The Hundred stats have not been added as it's a different format with only a few players having been involved.
PREDICTIONS:
England would have their eyes set firmly on the trophy. They are easily the strongest team coming into this tournament & when all the players are grouped together, this team becomes a formidable force!
