Hosts Malaysia were up against Scotland in the 4th match of the Commonwealth Games Qualifiers. After losing their opening games, both teams were searching for their first victory. 

Scotland skipper Kathryn Bryce won the toss and decided to bat first. The Wildcats started off their innings well with 49/1 at the end of the powerplay. The only wicket to fall during this period was of Sarah Bryce who made a quickfire 30 (18) with Natsya uprooting the stumps. But, it was time for her the other Bryce to take over led the charge with 62* (46). She stitched together a partnership with Abbi Aitken-Drummond who scored 43 (37). Malaysia dragged it back in the last 10 overs picking 4 wickets at the cost of 70 runs as Scotland ended with 148 for 5 in 20 overs.

Malaysian bowlers Mas Elysa and Nik Nur Atiela picked 2 wickets each. In response, Malaysian skipper Winifred Duraisingam got her team off to a flying start as Malaysia scored 18 runs in 2 overs. But, it was the 16-years old Katherine Fraser who started to derail the Malaysian innings by taking 3 wickets in just 2 overs. She ended up with her career-best figures of 4/19 which helped her team to pull off their 1st victory in the tournament by beating Malaysia by 31 runs. She also became Scotland's highest wicket-taker in the WT20Is with 30 wickets in 22 games.

Jamahidaya Intan was the top-scorer with 24 (31). Kathryn Bryce won the Player of the Match for her 62* and two catches.
