Southern Brave are designed to impress & they continue to do so with 2/2 wins so far. Manchester managed to catch a lucky break against Welsh Fire who were looking all set to chase down a mammoth target of 157 until they ran out of gas at the end.

VENUE: Ageas Bowl, Southampton

The first game saw two scores of 150+ & this game also should see the team batting first manage to score 140+. MO might fall short of 140 if they are asked to bat first & lose 2 out of their top 3 early.

PROBABLE XIs:

Southern Brave - 1) Smriti Mandhana, 2) Danni Wyatt, 3) Sophia Dunkley, 4) Tahlia McGrath, 5) Georgia Adams, 6) Maia Bouchier, 7) Carla Rudd (wk), 8) Anya Shrubsole, 9) Freya Kemp, 10) Amanda-Jade Wellington, 11) Lauren Bell

Manchester Originals - 1) Lizelle Lee, 2) Emma Lamb, 3) Deandra Dottin, 4) Amy Satterthwaite, 5) Cordelia Griffith, 6) Ami Campbell, 7) Sophie Ecclestone, 8) Eleanor Threlkeld, 9) Kate Cross, *10) Grace Potts, 11) Hannah Jones

*Possible change: Phoebe Graham for Grace Potts

POSSIBLE TACTICS ON SHOW:

  • Smriti Mandhana has a vulnerability against RAO in the PP. MO might look to have Emma Lamb ahead of Hannah Jones to share the new ball with Kate Cross. Although, MO have a habit of sticking to their bowling order & will have to change that.

  • If Deandra Dottin survives the PP, then Amanda-Jade Wellington will come straight into the game. Dottin likes to attack the spinners, but at times, she picks the wrong spinners to attack & Wellington can be one of them. She went after Alana King & got out, but went after Hayley Matthews & succeeded. It is more of a case where when she looks to attack a spinner that spins the ball away from her, she struggles as she looks to hit such balls to her preferred leg-side.

  • With not much role to play with the bat, Georgia Adams will continue to play an integral part as a bowler and should get at least 15 balls against the MO batters.

  • Anya Shrubsole has been a very astute captain. She knows that her strength lies with the new ball, so she looks to bowl as much as she can in the PP. While she struggles to pick wickets, she does manage to keep it tight. But, today she has bang-on match-ups against Lizelle Lee, Emma Lamb, & Deandra Dottin.

WINNER:

Southern Brave are the favorites to win the game as they have the right bowling attack to stop the Originals.
