VENUE – Willowmoore Park B, Benoni | TIME – 13:45 local/17:15 IST
This game will see the 2nd use of the deck at Willowmoore Park B after the game between UAE & Scotland. There has been a bit of movement in the air, but it is a good pitch to bat on.
SRI LANKA: Sri Lanka has a pretty good youth domestic system and they have been churning out some very good players. There were standouts from the tournament last year and they will be on show for this tournament.
PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR -
Dewmi Vihanga: Vihanga took a hat-trick in the warm-up game and the spinner has had the best run out of all bowlers with 7 wickets across the two games. She finished with 3/4 in the first warm-up & 4/17 in the second warm-up.
Vidushika Perera: The left-arm spinner was another big performer in the domestics, including games at the senior level. She took 6/17 in one of the games to make a strong claim for selection. The USA right-handed batters will have to be wary of the threat that she will pose.
Vishmi Gunaratne: The only capped player and the captain of this U-19 side will be the most important batter in this team. She made a vital 39* against Scotland in the warm-up.
PREVIEW
USA: USA has 10 players who have represented the senior side and have a total of 78 international caps. They will look to make this experience count against a Sri Lankan side that has only 1 player who has played for the senior side.
PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR -
Sai Tanmayi Eyyunni: The right-arm wrist spinner is accurate and spins the ball both ways. She made her debut at the age of just 15 & would be a major threat to the Sri Lankan batters.
Geetika Kodali: The skipper will be spearheading the pace attack for her team. She became the 2nd youngest player to represent the senior side at the age of just 14. Her accurate inswingers would be the ones to watch out for.
Snigdha Paul: The LHB batter adds that variety + bowls handy RAP. She is likely to set the tone for her team by taking the new ball.
