Game 1 followed the same theme as anticipated with the team batting first winning the toss, opting to bat, hitting the average score of 160+, and winning the game comfortably.
Supernovas won the first game comfortably and would be looking to cement their place in the final. However, they could look to make a couple of changes in order to give other players a chance since they defeated the Trailblazers by a huge margin & allowed themselves a very good NRR. Whereas, Velocity begin their campaign under the leadership of Deepti Sharma.
VENUE: MCA Stadium, Pune
The venue had a very clear pattern coming into the 1st game of the Women's T20 Challenge. The last 7 games had the team batting first ending up as the winners with the average score being 167. The Supernovas added to the tally by making it 8 wins as they defended 163 runs quite comfortably. However, with this game being a Day encounter, things could take a turn.
PACE OR SPIN:
While the pacers have had more success at this venue in the last month or two, the spinners will come into play in the Day fixture. With plenty of quality spinners across the two sides, it will be advisable to back them over the pacers.
