After the first game was washed out, the eyes turn to the 2nd WODI between the two sides.

VENUE: Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg

There were plenty of runs scored in the first game by the West Indies and they looked all set to cross the 250-mark. The score might come down a touch because of the rainfall.

HEAD-TO-HEAD (Last 5 games)

South Africa - 3 | West Indies - 1 | NR - 1

PROBABLE XIs:

South Africa: Laura Wolvaardt, Tazmin Brits, Sune Luus (C), Mignon du Preez, Chloe Tryon, Marizanne Kapp, Sinalo Jafta (WK), Shabnim Ismail, Ayabonga Khaka, Masabata Klaas, Nonkululeko Mlaba

West Indies: Deandra Dottin, Rashada Williams. Kycia Knight (WK), Chedean Nation, Stafanie Taylor (C), Hayley Matthews, Shemaine Campbelle, Chinelle Henry, Shakera Selman, Shamilia Connell, Karishma Ramharack

MUST-HAVES:

  • Kapp might be back for this game after South Africa realized what they lacked in the first game. If Kapp plays, Dottin will not score as big as she did in the previous game. Pick Marizanne Kapp, Shabnim Ismail, Chinelle Henry, & Ayabonga Khaka.
  • Sune Luus will have a bigger role to play in the absence of Niekerk. This is not only with regards to leadership but also with bowling leg-breaks. She will be a good ā€˜C’ choice.
  • Laura Wolvaardt should never be left out. She is always in an imperious touch.
  • The Windies are very reliant with the bat and ball on Stafanie Taylor and Hayley Matthews. While Taylor sustained an injury on her wrists, it will be interesting to see if she is fit enough to play in this game.
  • Back experience. Pick Mignon du Preez!

AVOID:

  • Masabata Klaas bowls well, but wickets are always hard to come by for her.
  • Chloe Tryon has had a downward spiral in form for a while now.

X-FACTORS:

  • The pacers in Aaliyah Alleyne & Shamilia Connell can prove really handy if West Indies are bowling first.
  • With a plethora of RHBs in the West Indies, Nonkululeko Mlaba will be a very good choice as an SLAO bowler.

C/VC CHOICES:

Sune Luus, Stafanie Taylor, Hayley Matthews, Marizanne Kapp, Laura Wolvaardt
